"Phoebe's Dream is a cheery one of musky red sunsets, hyper-green fern fronds, and always looking on the bright side the energy resounding here is positively er positive" - Return the Love review by SAMONE UNDERWOOD, MONO.NET AUSTRALIAN & NZ MUSIC ONLINE (FEB 2002)

Phoebe's Dream  D-jam (Sound Vault)
Scaly old critics such as myself search for the near intangible  that vague sense of invention inherent in only the most gifted of sonic souls. Here this Vicwegian foursome, based round the abilities of genetic rivals Phil and John Smarty, elicit some of the required x-factor. Based on a meditatively uncomplicated riff, there's an admirable air of freshness and creativity here. The upcoming long-player Return The Love might just be worth a gander on the strength of this teaser.
RICHARD KWONG - TIME OFF MAGAZINE,

Here are some more reviews of "D" Jam from ex- Talking Head Jerry harrison's web-site for unsigned bands www.garageband.com:
Uplifting Vocals Bring You To a New Level
Totally awesome track! The soulful vocals really propelled the song along with the clever guitar picking. The melody would make anyone happy. Great lyrics also! Definitely worth listening to over and over, especially on a gloomy day when you might need a little soul music to cheer you up.
Jabbering Mouths
Listening to this track brings the Talking Heads to mind, as well as their musical and lyrical inventiveness. This song is excellent, hands down. A creative beat, great vocals and harmony, and excellent musicianship throughout. Very cool. keggers - Jefferson City,Missouri
Catchy vocals and guitar make this a winner
Really great tune..reminiscent of Talking Heads but with more emphasis on guitars sorthious - Prince George, Virginia

phoebe's dream: 'dead song' (pop)
phoebe's dream brings on delicious pop with luscious layers. 'dead song' is anything but lifeless. It's a great alternative pop song with very complimentary vocal harmonies and jangly electric guitar effects. It's so upbeat, you'll be bouncing in your seat. You can definitely hear phoebe's dream's admitted influences, most notably David Bowie and Talking Heads, whirling around in this catchy track.

"It's hard to dislike Phoebe's Dream: there's no pretension whatsoever to their simple, off-the-cuff brand of brisk rock/pop. Refreshing musical simplicity.
The group know what they're doing and do it well"
...David Nicholls, Rolling Stone( Nov. 1998).

PHOEBE'S DREAM- Happiness
"A plain good rock record. It's that simple. The band flirt with different tempos and rhythms, and clearly draw from a wider pallette than most."
Shane O'Donohue- In- Press Magazine, December 8, 1999

Happiness augurs well for these Melbourne musos who've managed to write and produce some fine pop tunes"  David Challenger, Age Citysearch Review, August 1998
